Rs. 180 Crore Released to Andhra Pradesh for Development of Infrastructure in Tribal Areas [11 Sept 2013]

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has released Rs. 180 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the Special Area Programme of “Grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution of the India during the last three financial years. The grant is meant to be utilized to bridge the gaps in infrastructure in critical tribal areas and for improving the existing infrastructure . They include construction of roads, bridges, creating education , health, irrigation and drinking water facilities , construction of Ekalavya Model Residential Schools, Ashram Schools and other tribal residential Schools, hostelaccommodation for tribal students , providing laboratories , furnitures, sports infrastructures and implementation of Forest Right Act and awareness creation about the Act among forest dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers
