1.    First book on Modi's life and vision in Chinese

i. A book on BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's life and economic vision has been translated into Chinese and is being published by a leading university, with its release slated for early next month.

ii. “India's Modi - incredible emergence of a star -(peoples' power changes a nation)” by Sinologist and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay is being published by the South Asia Centre of Sichuan University, Chengdu.

iii. It has been edited under the guidance of veteran Chinese scholars D. Xioe and Jiawei.

iv. The book is divided into 13 chapters like “RSS guides the way”, "A Himalayan wanderer", "Social activism", "The political call", "Turmoil and turbulence" and "India awakened to a new dawn".

v. Tarun Vijay had received a fellowship from Sichuan University on India-China Relations and was also a member of the India-China Eminent Persons Group.

2.    Railways ups freight, passenger fares

i. As the voters gave a verdict to the UPA-2 Government, the UPA Government’s return gift to voters of India was in the form a hike in both freight and passenger fares of trains, which will be effective from May 20th.

ii. The Indian Railways announced a 6.5 per cent increase in freight fares and 10 per cent increase in all classes of passenger fares, said a release.

iii. There is flat 5% increase in freight rates and an additional increase of 1.4% on account of FAC (Fuel adjustment Component) which was due since April 2014. The overall increase in freight rates will be 6.5% approximately for major commodities, added the release.
